Going to Moab Utah during peak season can be a difficult time to find a campground. Arches campgrounds usually sell out, and canyonlands are relatively far away. Along the Colorado river, there are hundreds of campgrounds, all in the vicinity of Moab. They are pretty affordable, and that way you can spend your money on adventures instead of a hotel. I think they go $7-$10 a night, but everything is pretty basic. No running water or electricity.
